Gemini heat exchanger plates consist of two plates with a small air gap in between.
This gap is open to the atmosphere and is not in contact with either of the media, helping guard against any contact between them.
Gemini double-wall heat exchanger plates are designed for use in cooling/heating duties in dairy, pharmaceutical, brewery and beverage installations where it is crucial to prevent any cross-contamination between the two media.
Gemini plates consist of two sheets moulded together in order to keep the air gap between the sheets to an absolute minimum.
This ensures that heat transfer is still as efficient as possible.
The gap between the two sheets is open to the atmosphere and is not in contact with either of the liquids.
To avoid any leaked liquid getting trapped between two sheets, the whole periphery of the plate is open.
Using Gemini double-wall plates increases safety and hygiene levels, because any leakage that might occur does not result in contact or cross-contamination between the two media.
Dependent on product composition and viscosity, temperature and pressure, the unique design can also provide clear external indication should any leakage arise.
Gemini plates are currently available for use in the Alfa Laval FrontLine and BaseLine ranges of plate heat exchangers. |
