Shell-and-tube condenser series optimized for HFC condensation to provide the best efficiency in applications when fresh water is used as cooling medium.

Alfa Laval's shell-and-tube portfolio includes a wide range of condensers and desuperheaters providing individual solutions for conditioning, refrigeration and cooling applications.
Standard models fulfil condensation capacities ranging from three to 1680 kW.

The condenser series has been carefully optimized for the most commonly-used HFC refrigerants to ensure reduced condensation approaches resulting in high performance of the cooling system.
CPS, CFC and CRS models are optimized for R22. CDEW models have been designed for R407C, but can also be used with R134a, R404A and R507.
CDEW-E models are dedicated to applications using R134a for high-efficiency systems.

All condenser models can be opened for inspection and maintenance purposes.
The cleaning procedures of the tubes depend on the type of copper tube.
The tube can be enhanced - internally finned - for CPS, CDEW, CDEW-E models and traditional - internally plain - for CFC and CRS.
Versions using alternative materials to copper are also available; stainless steel, Cu/Ni 90/10 or titanium tubes.

A specific version of the condenser - HR version - can be used as a desuperheater.
In this case, the heat exchanger is installed between the compressor and the condenser.
It heats the sanitary water by desuperheating the vapour refrigerant before it reaches the condenser.
Another specific version - the HRC version - incorporates two water circuits in a single condenser.
One water circuit is connected to total heat recovery water, while the second one is connected to the cooling water circuit of the condenser.
